I have a S&W .357 in the night stand beside my bed. A Beretta 92g Elite in my desk drawer, and in various closets others either loaded or with a loaded clip lying beside one. My S&W Sigma .380 is in my P/U, brief case, or on top of the fridge in the kitchen. I wear it when I am dressed where I can wear it comfortably. Oh yeah, my Rem R-1s-s 1911a1 is on the top shelf of my closet in my office.

And my pit bull is either taking care of the back yard or underfoot in the den. A big lover, but he has a strange revulsion of people coming in uninvited. 80 pounds of love.

99% of the time, I'm carrying at home. Can't have one in my vehicle at work, but as soon as I get home, I bee-line for the safe.

My favorite response when asked if I'm carrying?

There was a time when I had a revolver & shotgun nearby but not on my person. We live in a semi-rural area on a dead end street so didn't see a lot of traffic. But as publicity of home invasions seemed to be increasing & spreading out from the 'city' my wife suggested I start carrying at home, at least when I was outside. Also, found signs of rather large wild hogs on my property. Rather than put it on & take it off, I just put it on when I dress in the morning & take it off when I go to bed.

I always carry my folding 3" Blade Tac. Knife with me until bed time. When other weapons are close! In addition there are weapons (Pistols-Rifles-Shotguns) around where I can readily get them in a matter of seconds should a situation arise!

The Constitution is not an instrument for the Government to restrain the people. It is an instrument for the people to restrain the Government!
*Patrick Henry

Today, we need a nation of Minutemen, citizens who are not only prepared to take arms, but citizens who regard the preservation of freedom as the basic purpose of their daily life and who are willing to consciously work and sacrifice for that freedom."

I forgot to mention I always leave a hammer on my breakfast counter and one in my computer room. I like to have options... Hehehe

No computer would be safe from me if I had a hammer in the same room...

Armed at home?

No. I'm not to be honest. My house is in a neighborhood that just isn't frequented by door kickers and a "bad element".

I have deadbolts, a fenced yard and motion lights. More than that, I have two German Sheppards, all four parents were from the old country so they are pure bred. 180,000+ scent receptors, advanced hearing and the small one, the one who is't barking, is the one who can run as fast as a Ferrari off the line. The big one, the one you will hear barking, is 120 pounds and he can definitely take a full sized man off his feet.

The good news is the big one will probably one try to control and dominate the bad guy. The little one will probably be there first, or on her second approach, and she will bite for the jugular because her pack instinct is MUCH higher than the average dog.

I do have a loaded pistol upstairs in a Biometric safe next to the bed and another loaded one downstairs. By the time the dogs have finished the ass whooping, it will give me plenty of time to recover said pistol and "control" the scene.

Enter at your own risk.

All I will say is you will find out if you try to break in. Some things are just not wise to advertise. Like telling the whole world you will be on vacation for two weeks. Might as well hang a sign out front saying go ahead no ones home
