I carry an XDsc9 IWB. It was a bit of effort at first to get used to concealing it but I love this gun so I make it work.
My first EDC was an LC9 - I loved how easy it was to conceal (used Crossbreed mini tuck and a flashbang) but I didn't enjoy shooting it. I sold it and worked on finding something I'd enjoy. It took some time lol. I made a spreadsheet of carry guns in my price range with all their info (size, trigger weight, etc etc) Then I went to the store and held each one. Just by picking them up I could rule some out. I had it narrowed down to 3 so I rented 2 of them and borrowed the third from a friend. Ruled her's out right away, but I loved the other 2 and spent a long long time in the range shooting both. It finally came down to a coin toss, I'd have been happy with either.
I carry from the minute I get dressed until I fall asleep at night, in a Crossbreed Supertuck. I typically wear jeans or shorts and an untucked shirt. I don't go real baggy, but just a bit loose - patterns and dark colors hide better. Or I'll wear a fitted tank with a open shirt over as a cover shirt. If I'm wearing a dress I throw on shorts under it and still carry IWB.

I carry a SIG 938, the biggest thing for me was finding something light and small that I could shoot well, took me a few trips to the range to get comfortable with it but I love it. I carry IWB small of back if I'm wearing jeans, in a skirt I either carry inside my left thigh or in a shoulder rig. It works for me. My suggestion would be go to a range that rents guns and shoot a few, my first cc was a Ruger SR9C and unfortunately I never shot one before I bought it and after having it for a few months I decided it was too big to carry and I had a few issues with it.
