As posted above, MI firearm laws are screwy.

I have yet to meet a CPL instructor that knows the laws... Hell, even my personal lawyer is a city's prosecutor had a key point wrong in his LEO training ppt.

I interviewed no less then a dozen CPL instructors to teach my FIL, the only one that got THREE questions right, cancelled the class a few days before the class, and NEVER CALLED ME. I finally enrolled him at the same school I took my class from, and sat in the class. The LEO teaching the legal portion was getting irritated at my "qualifying" questions.

President of MI Open Carry Organization put out a call for an instructor to teach a friend "that he wouldn't have to clean up after". Not sure if he found a good instructor.

In South Carolina they automatically tell you 90 days to get your cwp in the mail. Sadly, I only took my class a week ago: meaning I have about 10-11 weeks to wait...ugh to the max.

My inlaws live in SC, and were griping about the wait before all the hysteria. My grandfather, before he passed away, was so pissed off that you have to take a course he said F it and continued carrying as he always had, law be damned. I know for a fact he got a few tickets in his later years and everytime the .38 was on the seat of the truck and never did they question him about it. (he was 96 so he was accustomed to the ways of yesteryear)

I live in VA and they told me 4-6 weeks. Sure enough, 6 weeks later it was in the mailbox.
