I also have some EFMJ ammo made by Federal "GuardDog" I keep for Home defense as well as a mag of magsafe. If I have to shoot in my house I dont want to punch through multiple walls.

This topic comes up often with the B/S crew as we call ourselves.
Glock is loaded with a mixture of Winchester Ranger, Hornady Critical Defense, Speer Gold Dot, all JHP's.....all in random order as the Glock loves them all.
The Kimber ultra cdp is loaded with the same mixture all JHP's...with more Ranger than anything for now.
The SP-101 is loaded with Winchester Super X but the next trip to the range will be the last of the Super X.
The M&P9C is loaded with Speer Gold Dot
The Bersa is loaded with Hornady CD, seems to run a little smoother, Corbon is the only thing so far that the Bersa did not like....gave away 75 rounds.
The Beretta .22 is loaded with Winchester X round nose...she gets indigestion with anything else.

What is the purpose of mixing like that? Just feeding it what you have available or what?

Finally got my CCW permit. I now carry XDm Compact 9mm w/ Hornady Critical Defense. Still use FMJ ammo from the gun range for practice. Same weight of bullet in both, but maybe a little more charge in the HCD. HCD is not listed as +P, but I think the powder is just slightly below the +P threshold.

I carry a 1911, with ball ammo, and I don't feel under-gunned.

haha, Ammo is ammo, as long as it fires it's okay. People are talking about. "hiding" and what not. Like you would even process that in a real combat situation. Anyways, hollow points, and buck shot, enough said,
