I think my holster is a uncle mikes and it was only 10 bucks at academy sports. It feels cheap and I thought it would break with in 2 weeks but it's a good little holster had it about 2 months or so.. It actually fits my 1911 but it's so heavy so I carry my sigma... I have not had any trigger work done and probably will not do so. I hear its possible that courts could hold that against me should I ever have to use my gun in a defensive situation. I don't know what your budget is or what kind of 1911 you want but I have a rock island armory 1911 45 acp and it's a very good gun... Had 300 to 400 rounds and with no hiccups and the company recommends a 500 round break in period.. I got mine brand new otd for $440.00 even. Only thing I don't like is the sights.. I prefer the 3 dot sights but mine are just iron sights.. They make 1 of the versions with 3 dot sights I just didn't know it at the time ... Hope it helps

Thanks for the heads up about having trigger work I didn't know that and wldnt surprise me if the courts did hold that against you since criminals have more rights than regular ppl trying to protect themselves, but that for another post and I won't get into that. As far as a 1911, I have been looking at kimbers, Springfield, Remington, sig, and of course colts. I have even looked at having a custom built 1911. I just have to replenish my gun fund and get my wife over the FNAR I bought a few months ago. Which by the way is also an excellent rifle.

Forget kimber also. They are too hit and miss these last few years. Sig, sa, colt, RIA, and all RIA 1911 are good reliable guns. Ya they aren't in the same class but still a good reliable pistol.
