Walther PPK-PPK/S

How come I don't hear about these that much? James Bond carried one, they look like they would be great for CCW, is there something wrong with them? The chambering maybe? A lot of folks don't like .380 I know. I'm a dreamer and I want one, along with about 10,000 other guns.

While the .380 is not recommended for SD, the other thing the PPK/s has going against it is the weight when compared to other handguns.

I have two. Though I seldom carry either anymore they are fine guns and very accurate.

They are fine pistols but as mentioned the weight. That was the one of the reason that I recently purchased a Kahr P-380. Shot a perfect score with it two weeks ago on a qualification course back to 25 yards. Everything in the center box of a TQ-15 Target. I was certainly impressed with the little pistol and love the trigger pull! Here is a picture of it. I have now put a magazine extension on it so my little finger does not hang over the end of the grip.

a lot of folks go bersa thunder series rather than the walther. the bersas have much better DA trigger pulls and are muuuuuch lighter and offer a 15+1 version.

ive got both the walther workmanship especially on the pre-smith and wesson versions is way better. but i prefer the bersas.

if im going to carry a gun less than 45acp its gonna be a bersa.

The Walthers are fine pistols. They are heavy for their caliber and capacity. If you have large hands you will get cut by the slide as it reciprocates.

I have small hands for a guy (wear medium work gloves, and they're a little loose) and I don't mind the weight at all, my regular sidekick is a S&W 65. But I'm thinking higher capacity for the caliber would be better.

I enjoyed the craftsmanship and marksmanship of my PPK, but I found the polymer frame guns much lighter and 9mm ammo cheaper.
