Trip, it is not the Hawaiian shirt that draws attention it is your grass skirt.

No one informed me until the very end of summer (in MS, that would be the beginning to middle of November) that I'm supposed to wear underwear under the grass skirt. Your supposed to inform people when they're indecently exposed. Ever see Ace Ventura II? My balls were showing.

I agree with the post. Especially vests. When I see a man wearing a vest in Florida, in the Summer, I wonder "what" he is carrying, not if. Same with belly-bags. No self respecting man that I know would wear such an article, unless it was to "conceal" his mouse gun.

As much as I despise the style, I have bought Hawiian shirts for the very reason that the prints break up the profile of hardware on the hip. Of course other prints work well too, but Florida, we have enough yankee tourists wearing these shirts to blend in. I am not so sure about some other places.

In the Summer, a baggy colored or print pull-over an jeans work well for me and my 1911. The only time that I was concened about being made carrying, is when I got out of the car, in a hurry, to run into the Walmart. I was ten steps in the door when I realized my shirt was hanging on top of my gun. (I still don't think anyone saw me, if they did, they did not react) But I was em bare-assed just the same)

i like the fact wisconsin has open carry and conceal carry. i dont have to change dress styles. blue jeans and a tshirt. doesnt matter if it prints or not. most people dont notice that stuff anyway.

That's a nice vest, but unless you're a photographer or a fly fisherman it does scream "I have a gun".

I agree. If there isn't a camera hanging from your neck, or lures and fishing line poking out of the pockets, you obviously have a gun.

I disagree with the "belly bag" being a giveaway that a man is packing
a mousegun. In the winter months of southern Alabama, a guy that is
wearing a "gerbil bag" and wearing bermuda shorts and sandals and
black socks is just somebody from up north (yankee), or snowbird
spending the winter months down south.

There you go. I'll just wear my fishing vest. No one will suspect anything.

I could throw in my waders to complete the ensemble.

I bought a vest at a gun show in Vegas last month, I use it for everyday carry. It has a built in elastic bolsters on the left and right side. I can carry a full size 1911 and a judge and you would never know it. .
