A good way to die. I tell people hesitation can get you killed. This guy was VERY lucky.
Hesitation can get you killed, you're right. However, the clerk didn't hesitate. He pulled the gun as soon as the guy presented himself as a hostile, and pointed it directly at his face. Discretion is not always the same as hesitation. He also kept the gun pointed at the BG the entire time.

This guy has balls the size of church bells. It's his world, we just happen to live in it.

No reason to think the bad guys gun was real. Toys r us. I doubt the item in the right hand of the BG was anything but a toy.

Yes he did hesitate! You must have watched a different clerk than I did!
That was 'draw and fire' situation if ever there was one!!!!!!.
The bandit, luckily, gave up but if he had not given up the best the clerk could have hope for is both of them being shot by him hesitating.

If the BG had wanted to kill him the clerk would have been dead the minute the dude walked in.

The clerk showed restraint because he probably understood the guy wasn't going to shoot. The fact that he was able to block the guy's gun with his hand (while drawing his own) shows the BG didn't intend violence.

I'm not saying I would have shown the same restraint. I am saying, however, hesitation is different than restraint.

No offence, but you obviously have never been a situation where circumstance similar to this have been present, I have. Lucky for me I only got powder burns on my face! I learned not to hesitate AGAIN!

That's fine. I'm not trying to discredit your experience or even say I have ever been in a deadly situation.

However, I thought we all basically agree the point of carrying a weapon is not to kill the BG. The point, as I understand it, is to stop a threat. In this case, that happened simply by presenting a weapon.

No one died, no one went to court. Seems like a victory to me.
