It sounds like you are looking for compact and light. Quite a few 9mm handguns out there in that range. I know what you mean by the Glocks not fitting your hand. The only Glock that fits my hand is the G36 which is a single stack 45 ACP that carries 6+1 and weighs 27 oz with 7-230 grain rounds on board. It is a handful when you get down to the last couple of rounds. I have and highly recommend a Ruger SR9c although it is not may main carry. I have and carry most my Sig P238 with 7 round mags (17.5 oz). Sig now has their P938 which is single action 9mm of the 1911 pattern. It is just slightly longer and heavier than the P238 but it is a little pricey at $700-$800. The P938 was not available when I bought the P238 or I would have bought it instead. The Ruger is also available in 40 S&W at the same size with both running about $400. The SR9c weighs in at 28 oz loaded with 10+1.
In revolvers, look at the Ruger SP101 in 357 or one of the J Frames if 38 spl is OK. A loaded alloy or polymer J Frame size revolver will weigh about 16 0z.

Just left a small gun shop here, held and liked the way these two fit. Ruger SR40 even though I wanted 9mm loved the way it fit. Also Beretta 92FS which is weird because the grip is bulky but the gun doesn't feel bulky overall. Going back tomorrow the guy is supposed to be getting 15 others in tomorrow so I figured why not just wait and see before anything is done. If anyone has any feed back on these too I would LOVE to hear it. Also my wife held and liked the Taurus 709c slim. I really don't know much about Taurus....good gun? Ok gun? Terrible?

Thanks for the help guys. Ill check out that Taurus. If anyone else can give me ideas now that I kinda know what I want in a CC gun I'm all ears. Maybe just some advice as to what to check out even.
Check out Sig P938 or P238-sweet 9 &
380: mini 1911 that shoots great! Not the cheapest gun out there but worth it IMO.
-got a Ruger LCP as my 1st CC as I liked everything about it-UNTILL I SHOT IT & didn't like the extremely long DA trigger. Try and rent or borrow one to see how well you like shooting B4 u buy is probably the best advice I can give-even if I rarely follow it myself!

Ooooo are Rugers known for a long trigger pull? I really liked the SR40 I held but obviously wasn't able to shoot it.

Well it was a Taurus judge and after I had the bullet that was stuck in the barrel removed, my gunsmith told me that the timing on the cylinder was not right.

I looked for an EDC gun for a while. I ended up getting a Ruger LC9. It is fairly small, single stack, and shoots really nice. Personally, I prefer the long trigger pull of the LC9. I use a Blackhawk IWB holster and it is very comfortable to carry.
