Thanks to you and all others for the info.

When you mention the seat-belt buckling up I noticed not many of these have a retention strap. Is that a concern? Could the gun be yanked out with the seat-belt from a quick release of the seat-belt?

I think no matter what holster I would ever buy I'd have it modified and have a retention strap added. I know a good Shoe Repair/Boot man in Roanoke, Va. He would love to be involved with this kind of stuff. He does awesome work on shoes/boots but loves side jobs of unrelated tasks as well.

Here's a few open carry rigs for the Colt New Service 45LC, Colt SAA 45LC, Colt 1878 DA 44-40 and S&W DA 44 Russian.

that top rig is interesting i have never seen one like that for a wheel gun.

Jeffkeiser1989, That's a copy of a skeleton shoulder rig that was copied from Packing Iron: Guns of the Frontier West. I had that one made for me for my Colt SAA, but I have a few guns that fit it. It's getting harder to find vintage leather these days, so sometimes you have to make it up.
