I have the two tone now with 300 rounds through it. Only 1 FFE which was completely my fault. I wanted to fire it left handed and since this was my first time firing it lefty, STUPIDLY put my right thumb in the wrong place. The slide slammed back and nailed me good and the round didn't eject. Bled like a stuck pig too. Other than that I love the thing. I do plan on adding the Galloway S/S guide rod for 2 reasons. #1, the stock one has some serious wear marks on it and Ruger said it shouldn't (they sent me a new one which I received 2 days later and have yet to shoot with). #2, I think I will like the look better without the plastic end cap showing. Also plan on installing the polished cocked indicator. Can't hardly see the black plastic tip in the end of the slide as it is. Mine shoots a tight group but a tad low (or maybe it's the way I hold on target). Gonna bump it up a smidge next Tuesday when I go to the range again.

CONGRATS!!

You will not be disappointed. I have shot the SR9c before and liked it well enough.

Congrats! You made a mighty fine choice. For practice ammo, buy the cheapest you can find. 9MM is around $10 a box for FMJ (http://www.ammoforsale.com/). For self defense, buy two boxes (20 in a box) of good quality self defense ammo. I use Hornady Critical Defense. Don't get all caught up in this SD ammo selection. As long as it's recognized as a good self defense round, it will be fine. Shoot one box to function test it in your gun. Save the other box for carry and home defense and pray to God you never have to use even one round of it. The key is practice, practice, practice, then practice some more. Unless you reload, or are rich, that may be a problem. And not just target shooting, although that's the starting point. For muscle memory, shooting 100 rounds a week is better than shooting 400 rounds once a month. Think about reloading. I have a shooting range on my property so I recycle my lead for casting my own bullets. I can reload any pistol ammo for $2.00 a box as my only recurring costs are for primers and powder. I shoot a lot and I mean A LOT ! I just cast 1500 38 caliber wad cutters and 2000 40 caliber 175 gr semi-wad cutters. You're really gonna enjoy that piece ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !

Happy shooting and always be safe.

Mine isn't at all picky and for target shooting I just buy the cheapest stuff. The gin seems to have no problem with it. I think you will be happy.

I've had my SR9c for about a year and a half and love it. My son likes it, too. I've been using basic 9mm, 115gr, FMJ ammo for target shooting. I'm looking at getting my CCW very soon and will be using it for my daily carry.

I've had my SR9c for about 8 months and have put 800 round through it without a single failure. I love it. As soon as I receive my CHL, it well be my edc. You made a great choice.
