Sent emails to all of my reps and Barry himself. Now I just need my go pound sand response from most of them.

So what is the current status, are concealed carry permits valid in national parks right now? If not they will be 2/22/10? I am surprised that they are going to allow this and that Obama signed it.

You cannot carry "right now" The bill that President Obama signed into law will take effect on February 22, 2010. Until now, it is a waiting game. Unfortunately, it gives time for anti-second amendment folks to formulate a plan to manage to block this. It might take some, as this Amendment to the Credit Card Reform Act, was voted on sepately and passed even before going to the President for signing.

I have never understood the ban on hand guns in national parks. I they want to ban hunting rifles I can see some logic behind that even if I disagree but hand guns are defensive weapons. No one goes dear hunting with a snub nosed .38....
