DefaultResponse to No Guns Allowed signs....

I've been playing with this and decided that it would be more appropriate for each of us who wants to, should have on the card what he/she prefers to say. Here are links to MS Word files for the front and back of a business card that anyone with Word can edit as they see fit. The format is for the Avery business card template #8371

Good idea, but for companies that are not sole proprietorships or locally owned and operated, the main office declares these policies "for the lawyers."

I doubt it would have any effect on corp business practices.

true enough, but locally about 200 of the cards, got the no guns sign taken out of a new Home Depot store a few years ago. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

There are very few "no guns" signs here. Even our banks allow customers to have concealed guns. If I see a "no guns" sign, those people just lost my business.

I saw one of these the other day when I went to pay my cable bill. Since there were no words, I honestly didn't know what it meant. I'm not a Beretta fan anyway.

Clearly it means don't buy a Beretta, especially the 92/96 series. I can actually agree with that logic having owned and sold a 92F back in the day.

All of these signs seem to prohibit semi-autos...time to start carrying the revolver!!

You know, that's interesting because we got into a bit of a discussion around the shop about what would happen if the next lunatic that went on a shooting crazy rampage did it with a revolver and breach load, double barrel shotgun.

Think about it for a moment. A .357 magnum, or a .44 magnum, with a swing out cylinder, like the S&W Model 29, could do a HELL of a lot more damage than someone with a 9mm spraying and praying. How many people have we seen in recent years get hit by multiple 9mm and .40 cal rounds and be in "serious but stable condition"?

Granted, it couldn't be reloaded as fast, but with practice, you could be right up there in time with a pocket of speed loaders. Then you factor in a side by side, cut down 12?!

What would happen then? If no "evil" assault style weapons were at fault, would the next step be that ALL firearms needed to go?

Before someone brings up Great Britian and their assinine laws - recently the crown sentenced 8 or 9 males, from the ages of 14 to 16, to something like a combined 54 or 64 years in prison for the daylight assault and multiple rape of a 14 year old who had "dissed" them.

The attack happened less than one block from her home where several passersby, who were called to trial to testify, walked by and did not intervene.

One person, when asked after the trial while he didn't do anything to stop the "gang" his reply on the BBC was "There was a whole lot of them, what was one person going to do to change things?"

Completely emasculated culture - is that where we are headed??

I'll tell you one thing for damn sure, I would be MORE worried looking down the barrel of a 44 mag or 357 mag than any autoloader. People that carry high-powered revolvers are "generally" competent shooters and will most likely take you out in a single shot.

It's obviously your call, but I tend to make sure they know why they lost your/my business.
