I'm glad everything worked out in such a way that everyone walked away, with no flashing lights of any color on any kind of vehicle coming into it.
I travel A LOT for work and sometimes head through some shady areas of some rough towns, from Noo Yawk to Miami and a lot of places in-between, like DC. I've been known to sleep at a rest area or two in my time as well. All that has taught me to keep my head on a swivel at all times.
+1 for being aware enough to see this coming and taking steps to dictate the action in the situation, not be a surprised victim of it.
Another responsible gun owner keeps himself and his family safe and nobody got shot. All the anti-gun people would be disappointed.
