No one said or thinks that you're an idiot; no one wants to steer you the wrong way!

Actually Lonyager, in MO, State statue 571 states that It is lawful to carry a concealed firearm in any establishment except a list of excluded locations (court buildings, schools, churches without pastor permission, etc.). For all other locations, like stores, the owner can decide to post a "No Firearms" sign (which has to meet certain minimum standards regarding size, etc.). If they have a sign posted, and you carry into that establishment, and they learn that you are carrying, they can ask you to leave. If you refuse to leave after they ask you to, they can then call the police who can charge you with tresspassing if you are still there when they arrive. But the owner MUST ask you to leave before calling police. This is how th law reads in my state. All states are slightly different, so you need to read the laws in your current state to find out what the law says.

Hi ND,

Do you recall what happened a few years ago at one of the downtown Detroit casinos where a guy was playing at a table and losing big time I guess. Anyway, he stood up, pulled out his carry and blew his brains out right there?
If I recall correctly, the guy was attached to a law enforcement agency.

Also technically on any private property that the owner does not allow firearms.
Not all colleges have a firearm ban.
In fact, some colleges are retracting their "no handgun" policies.
The intent is to give a civilian the chance to stop the craziness before it becomes a huge massacre.

that sounds like a really good idea, also many people are attacked and many women are raped on college campuses. a few years ago at TSU the Chinese delivery guy was robbed and murdered in front of the dorms probably wouldn't even be ABLE to count the number of rapes that happen there.

Sorry Lonyaeger, no offense intended. I was actually responding more to this statement in your post:

"...I'm pretty sure that, if a private business has a sign that says "No Guns," then they can do much more than just ask you to leave."

I don't know about your state, but in MO, this statement is incorrect. The owner cannot do anything BUT ask you to leave unless you refuse to do so after being asked.
Again, no offense. It does all vary by state.
Thanks.

Hey, no offense taken at all. I think this thread has outlived its usefulness.
