In the local indian casino they have a big sign with a picture of a gun on it saying they are prohibited. It is on a huge chunk of a reservation, and they even try to require that when the state police are there, that they have to leave thier gun at the door with security-needless to say,the state police simply don't go there because it is a violation for a state officer to be without his gun-so they let the tribal police handle thier own problems. That reservation is nuts,I hear of police barging in homes and threatening people. That reservation is it's own country,I mean, casinos are illegal here in michigan-but on the reservation, they can have them and do whatever they want.

That's what I never understood. As far as I have ever known, casinos are illegal in Michigan.I know there was a huge legal fight they had or something, did that fight make them legal-I don't know or remember.

BAck to the OP. I believe, and this is NOT advice, that a place that has a No-Gun POLICY (not law) such as a mall, can only ask you to leave. You are not breaking any laws besides Trespassing by not folling their rules

....okay.....huh?

Laws vary from state to state. Not sure what state you're in, Mohawk, but the OP simply needs to research the laws from his OWN STATE.

I'm pretty sure that, if a private business has a sign that says "No Guns," then they can do much more than just ask you to leave.

Of course, this all depends upon what PLANET you're from.

They can press trespassing charges... Atleast here in VA. Nothing more unless the weapon was used in the commision of a crime yada yada

OK, the only answer to the OP is to check his state laws. It's quite simple. It can be found on the Internet.

Similar to the OP situation, my CCW class focused on gun handling and safety, with some marksmanship and technique, but very little on legality and practice of actually carrying.
