There was no disparity of force during the altercation and thank god he didn't pull the trigger. So many more lives could have been affected had he done that.

If the judge lost his objectivity, then let the pizza man appeal his verdict when his sentence is handed down.

The OP did the right thing, and it's completely human to have the emotions he's feeling.

From the narrative is sounds to me like the owner lost his temper and pulled a gun. Can't do that.

That's it in a nutshell. Once you start carrying, there's damn few reasons to unholster. Practice, cleaning, storing, or self-defense. And the last is only when the threat is of grievous injury or death. Getting pushed doesn't count.
