Only one question needed, show the police officer your license and be on your way.

I think that open carry can be a good thing and it is good for people to educate others on the laws of their own state. I hate to hear people are afraid of guns and then asked why that dont know they just are. if we had more people who open carried then maybe some of the negative publicity that guns get from the media could be turned around a little bit. just my two cents there Anthony
I agree to an extent, Open carry SHOULD be the way to knowledge. Unfortunately, it is usually the quickest way to ending up in handcuffs while the police sort out the situation.

Personally, I've found a less dangerous way to handle this. I have two T-shirts that I typically wear, when possible. One says "Guns don't kill people, Liberals against Conceal-Carry laws kill people." The other one, says "Concealed Carry works for me!"

While I've gotten some "looks" from people, I've also gotten a number of people who tell me they like my shirts. It's almost as good as carrying openly. If nothing else, it brings the subject out in the open.

Well, anomalous means inconsistent. Which state was this comment in reference to?

I'd recommend checking out uscarry.com, the replacement for packing.org. According to the link, I checked out, open carry is legal in Kansas, but cities may have restrictions. I guess Kansas needs a pre-emption law.

Not allowed to open carry in NY. If a citizen see's your weapon or the imprint of it, and complains to the police, you can have your CCW permit revoked. Also cannot carry in NYC - concealed oor otherwise. In Az. open carry, no permit required. - a friend told me a permit is required to carry concealed in AZ.

That's not entirely true. NYC has it's own permit system. Thing is, if you don't know anyone, or if you're not famous, chances are, you're not gonna get an NYC concealed carry permit.
