One dead in Illinois church shooting

For all those people who do not carry in certain places-like church. Man, I thought Illinois was a safe state, with all the anti-gun laws! I guess it just doesn't work-does it?

I'm not very religious, but it's a damn shame when the people in the choir have to stash tazers under their robes.

guns in church

If a person needs to carry a gun anywhere, it should be church. A lot of nuts come to places like that to kick up trouble...

There as been a lot of push for CC in Illinois recently, especially in Cook County, one of the most strict areas. Little progress has been made but really don't know if we'd be better off with or without it.

nice ebola pic.

you would be better off with conceal carry. armed ciizenry helps lower crime every place its tried. the more guns the lower the crime.

after SCOTUS heller ruling crime in Chitcago actually DROPPED!

How could THAT be??? We ALL know less guns = less crime! Right?? Just ask that idiot Helmke! Or King Dick Daly!

yeah....the murder count per year has been dropping since we had the highest some years back, i think it was 2006.

but supposedly some of that is economics related, with overall crime dropping in general. i can guarantee chicago will credit it to something they did rather than eliminated. they just recently shifted a large number of chicago police from desk jobs back to patrol, which was more budget related so they could close up three old stations. likely they will credit the increased patrols as opposed to the lifted handgun ban.

whats interesting is chicago still maintains one of if not the highest murder rates, that being more handgun homicides per person, higher than NYC and LA, i think we compete with Baltimore for the top spot...and i think that is just related to some of the hoods being hot...and hot is apparently constantly....

there were 20 shootings just this past friday night in chicago and most of em in the same areas they always are....

I'm for CCW all the way

Pray tell, what is it about churches that attracts these
gun-totting maniacs to open fire on innocent people? I
still cannot figure that out. If one wishes to open fire on
people, there are lots and lots of targets available to them
(e.g.) drug dealers, pedophiles, corporate warlords, etc.
Why church-goers? Is it because they can't fire back?

Actually alot of progress has been made, the state congress passed a CCW
law but it was not veto proof, and Quinn vetoed it, as he promised to. But
Quinn has armed escort provided by our taxes so what does he care? The
whole thing was kept fairly quiet by the MSM.

Really? Criminals do not like armed victims; it makes for a hazardous work
place. We are the last state without it, every state has shown that crime
drops when victims are armed. We also need to strengthen our Castle laws.

But then again if they keep jacking up our taxes I am gonna have to move...

I saw that stat but the arson rate in Chicago INCREASED so I suppose more guns = more arson...look for that one on the Brady site next
