Wow. I love that quote Cane! I may have to steal it as it is definitely sig-worthy!

He did used to be a security guard, His old misdemeanor was for having a concealed long blade knife during a traffic stop.

That's why we're here, to share.

If you like Jeff "Cooperisms", read some of my blogs.

What John Moses Browning provided us in gun design, LtC J. Cooper provided us in gun common sense!

Update: The Omaha DA dropped the concealed carry charge. He had an open carry permit, and the store video showed the gun in his wasteband. Case closed, he isn't facing charges of any kind.

Very Nice! I hope the state issues him a concealed carry permit as a thank you note.

Taking 4-40 cal rounds and walking out to collapse? Contrary to what we would like to believe, handguns are lousy man stoppers. They will kill with well placed shots, but are not good at STOPPING a determined attacker. Unless one of the bullets severed the spine, it is not at all surprising the walked out of the store before expiring. A .44 mag would have done no better given shot placement.

I carry a handgun because I do not expect trouble. If there is trouble, it will hopefully enable me to fight my way to my rifle...Then things get interesting.

That's great...the only thing I would change is...another Cooperism...the man shoulda' had a .45...This is what we never hope for but always want to be prepared for!

Post mortem update--the perp was hit 4 times, one wrist, one arm, one sholder, and one center chest--so the .40 probably did just about as good as anything else would have--he spun, ran through the door a few feet behind him, and fell dead in front of the store.

He only made it a few feet? I call that a success. Walgreens should reimburse the guy for the 4 rounds and give him a gift certificate to Front Sight, Thunder Ranch, LFI or any other week long class of his choosing.

Next time it will be 4 to the center of the chest!
