I carry a small blue Kershaw when not at work and I have a bigger Kershaw for work. Neither have the serrated blade. I only like straight blades. I'm getting a new work Kershaw Monday that has a tanto blade. I always have a knife and a gun. Everywhere I go they go.

Only combo blade I ever saw a use for was a Spyderco Rescue model that was stolen from me. It had a blunt tip to slide under a seatbealt or clothing without cutting the wearer, and the first (tip) inch of the blade had aggressive serrations for cutting belts, etc. Other than that I don't care for serrations. Always have carried one of one kind or another. Recently misplaced my Kershaw assisted opening with a straight blade (I, too, prefer them mainly because they are much, much easier to sharpen). Since I misplaced that I am down to two pocket knives.

My first carry knife was a Schrade 3" lockback that I found on my way home from school in the 6th grade. It hada broken tip, my mom sent it in and they sent me back a new one with a new belt holster for it to boot! Still have the knife but the holster has gone missing. Carried it on my belt in school all the time.
