That matches my understanding.

Exactly what I was asking for. I hadn't heard about that ordinance before. Since I don't live in North las Vegas it has little direct impact on my daily life. But any law that is violation of state law and the Nevada Constitution (not to mention THE Constitution) sure needs to be repealed. And the North Las Vegas Attorney General is a liar. If the intent was to target those with no legal right to carry, the law would have been written that way. It is heartening that the guys got a good reception from tourists from all over. This isn't just a Nevada issue.

9.32.040 Dangerous or deadly weapon defined.
The term "dangerous or deadly weapons" includes, but is not limited to, any dirk or dagger; any knife
with a blade three inches or more in length, and any snap-blade or spring-blade knife, regardless of the
length of the blade; any ice pick or similar sharp stabbing tool; any straight edge razor or any razor
blade fitted to a handle; any dangerous or deadly weapon within the meaning of any law of this state
restricting the use thereof; and any cutting, stabbing, or bludgeoning weapon or device capable of
inflicting grievous bodily harm; and any firearm other than (a) one carried pursuant to a valid permit,
issued by a duly authorized government authority, or (b) an ordinary rifle or shotgun lawfully carried for
purposes of hunting or other lawful sport. (Prior code § 7.22.040)
Councilman Wade Wagner called me this morning when i inquired about repealing the law as it conflicts with Clark County/Nevada. He told me the Exceptions include valid blue card/CCW holders from the Open/CC weapon ban. I would have prefered an email or better a signed letter, but i'll go with it.

This has been discussed to death. Here are the facts:
No county or city code can pre-empt your right to carry. Many are worried about getting into trouble. I myself and many friends have carried in NLV with zero issues, and cops there do not care. That local ordnance was put into effect so cops can shake down s*hitbags. They wont mess with you if you're not up to no good. Technically they could cite you, but in the end you'd win.

Secondly someone mentioned no ccw in casinos. That's a lie. You can carry in casinos. IF they find your gun (which means you're an idiot) they can ask you to leave, that is all.
