...You just gotta see this "device" that is being shown on Fox News science page. This is something every disabled or elderly person should be aware of...I might have to get a few of my toys declared as "medical devices"...

It's not a bad idea, or a bad design. The cartridge is a little lacking, but for someone older and a bit frail, it would sure and hell be better than nothing.

According to the FBI Stats the last time I checked, most gunfights take place at about 7 yards. With that unit, I think you could hit minute of bad guy at 7 yards without too much problem.

Of course, with a predator, he is going to try to close that distance before the unsuspecting elderly person knows, so when he is good and close, this would be better than nothing in terms of defense.

This appears to be a remake of an antique palm pistol from the late 1800's. It had more than one shot though as the cartridges rotated around the circle, made by Chicago Arms. bet you the BATFE classes it as a Class III- Any Other Weapon. Made to be used 2 handed- one holds weapon, other hand holds shoulder of opponent.

I still think it's a good idea. One placed 9mm round is better than trying to jam your thumb in someone's eye until you reach brain matter.

If you doubt that, I encourage you to give your friendly neighborhood hoodlum your pistol with one round in it, while you try to protect yourself with your bare hands, and see which one of you walks away.
