i carry a Bersa Thunder .380... never had a problem w/ it... it's still fairly cheap
i also carry a Ruger LCR .357 mag w/ Crimson Trace n a ankle holster from Don Hume which will also fit the LCR .38

My first ccw gun was a .357 snubby...revolvers are great to learn on. You can shoot the cheaper .38s at the range and keep .38+p or .357 in it when you're carrying. You can find em in your price range all day and they're sharp lookin lil guns that are easy to hide and pack a punch.
I got a Glock 19 for my CC (actually, it was a gift, so I didn't get to choose), and while I love the gun, it's just too big for me to conceal it in the way that I need to. So, I shot a friends Bersa Thunder 380, fell in love with it so much so, that my hubby bought me one same day. Their price range is around $240 - $300. A lot of people really love them
