My new carry piece: Kahr PM9

Picked this up this evening. I've wanted one of these for a couple years. Taking it to the range tomorrow and will run a couple hundred rounds through it.

Try to use a 124gr fmj at first as the heavy recoil spring can cause problems with 115gr bullets along with a new to light pistol shooter After a 100 rounds or so they will shoot most any ammo. Other than that enjoy. I have a cm and cw9 that rotate as my CC pistols. If you plan on shooting 200 rounds take a buddy!! hehe Your hand will not be happy. I added some old inner tube to mine to help with grip control.

Thanks for the tip on the bullets.

I learned my lesson when I broke in my BG 380. I'll be picking up a pair of gloves at Lowes before I hit the range later today.

Regardless of comfort, I definitely need to get it done. This gun has the tightest spring of anything I've handled. It really needs to loosen up. And I'm anxious to see if this trigger is as good as it feels when dry-firing it.

Congratulations. May you never have to draw it in anger.

I really, really like that gun. Just wish I could get use to the long DAO type triggers.

Put a little more than 200 rounds thru it today. All in all... I really like this gun. It has less snap than I was expecting. In fact, I would say it has less snap than my BG 380. That's definitely a good thing. The sites are fantastic... very easy to pick up and put on target. I might look at some tritium sites down the road, but I see no reason to make it a priority.

The trigger is nothing like a SAO trigger, but it's the best DAO trigger I've had the chance to play with. Besides 9mm power in a small package, the trigger is what really made me want this gun.

I was surprised how tight the groups were. I expected something looser with the short sight radius.

No FTE or FTF.

Just all around great pistol. This is now my daily carry.

I love my PM9 and carry it almost exclusively. One caution on ammo though, the PM9's don't like Winchester Bonded PDX1. I've shot almost every other type of ammo through mine and it eats anything...except the PDX1's. It will not chamber the round and shuts the gun down completely to the point it has to be taken apart to clear. Other than that, it is my dream CCW.

Good to know. I carry Hornady CD.

Glad your break was trouble free. You do know that kahrs are like lay's potatoes , you can't have just one.

I have not tried many HP bullet types. Seems speer gold dots has been my main bullet in all my defence loads and some hunting ammo for many years . Check out underwood ammo. 50 rounds for the price of 25 with BIG name ammo comapanies. There +P runs reeal well be they tend to stay with speer also.

Critical Defense or Critical Duty?

Critical Defense or Critical Duty? I carry Critical Defense but intend to try Critical Duty when the run on ammo dies down a bit...if ever.
