It's near impossible to get an ri ccw so I'm SOL.

Yeah I saw that after I posted. Wish my state was easier to get a ccw. They deny applications like crazy. "self defense" is not considered a good enough "reason" in the attorney generals way of thinking here.

Missouri has the most reciprocity, but doesn't issue to non - residents. Good thing I live here

UT, AZ or FL are prob. your best bet. Check your local gun club's websites and LGS for classes, costs and pre-requisites.

I think this is becoming a trend. States will only recognize your home states issued CCW. Utah law requires that you must have a home state CCW before they will issue you a Utah CCW. The exception is if your home-state does not issue CCWs. With Illinois new CCW laws approving that right residents of Illinois will now need a home state CCW to renew their Utah CCW.

Utah issued me a ccw and I dont have a home state permit.

Non-resident proof of permit. If you reside in a state that recognizes the validity of the Utah CFP or has reciprocity with Utah, you must obtain a CFP or CCW from your home state and submit a copy of it with your application for a Utah permit. For a list of reciprocal states click here. Residency will be determined by your state-issued identification. If your state does not recognize the Utah permit this does not apply. So, in my case, since ri does not recognize the Utah permit, I guess I'm the the exception to that rule.
