Five weeks would be great but I've been hearing it may take months.

It is very cool that they had a DA come in and talk to you guys, I like that.

Many places, be they businesses, state government offices, retail stores or whatever, will give an inflated time estimate on just about anything just because they don't want people calling every few days to check on the status.

MS tells people it can take 6-8 weeks to get the concealed carry permit, but I don't know anyone personally who had to wait longer than 3 weeks.

Trip, the OP's county is taking as long as 4 months, and on the local state forum, somebody just reported today they waited 130 days. My county was in the running to be as bad or worse... but something happened, I had mine in 6ish weeks.

Well some folks actually take the max amount of time they claim, and then some more. I sure hope it works out good for the OP.

Here in indiana its supposed to take 4 to 8 weeks but ive never got mine in less than 10 to 12 weeks. They took 12 when i got my four year permit, when i renewed and went with the lifetime permit it took a little more than 10 weeks.

Its the government, they dont get in a hurry to do anything, unless of course you owe them money.

I think according to MI statute they are supposed to have it issued within 45 days or issue a temp, but the law is confusing. The OP's county appears to be intentionally dragging their feet, and some feel it's because they are anti 2A.
