Michigan CCW question
I will be taking my CCW course in Michigan on this Thursday. i plan on submitting the paperwork on the following day, friday. How long does it take to get my permit from the day i submit the paperwork? I heard that the state meets once a month to approve paperwork of applicants. does anyone know when that date is? thanks.

ccw in Michigan
It depends on where you live each county is different. In Muskegon county, they meet one day a month, I think it is the 3rd wednesday of the month.

Yup, it's county-specific. You could probably find the dates online, or ask your local PD.

It's actually the County gun boards that do this, not the state. But like everyone else has said, it depends on what county you live in. When I first got my CPL, it took 113 days from the day I submitted the paper work to the date I got a card from the Ingham County Clerk's office telling me I could pick up my license. When I renewed it 4 years ago, it took about 40 days. Same county gun board too. Go figure.

I got mine in oakland county a few months ago. It took about two hours to get processed and then exactly six weeks to get the cpl.

I got mine in Ingham County and it was super fast. In Eaton you have to go in person before their gun board, or at least you used to. Hubby renewed his and it was super fast.

I've heard the same thing.
I don't know the facts, but I was told if you are in wayne county go to the west side, do not go downtown.
