In this world he didn't have to do anything wrong. The laws exist to make the streets (and your home) safe for criminals.

He will never live this down. Anytime she's mad he's gonna hear " remember that time you shot me".

My brother-in-law's son-in law (my nephew-in-law-in-law?) had his house burglarized once, so he was especially vigilant after that. He has a 1911, his wife has a .357. One night they were in bed and heard someone trying to break in thru the front door. They both jumped outta bed, grabbed their guns and ran for the front door. She got there ahead of him, and while he was running, he tripped over something. He stumbled and accidently shot his wife in the a$$. The perp at the door ran away. That was maybe 3 or 4 years ago. He's still living with her wrath!

Id come back with "Remember that time I saved your life?"

But only if you have a comfortable couch.

Yes, the homeowner can still be sued, and even criminally charged by some proscecutor. He could face charges simply because a given DA charges everyone who shoots anyone or because he fired more than 3 shots ( see the video, " Deadly Force " by Alex Jason ) .

If you listen to the real police recording, it is evident that Zimmerman stopped following Martin, which means Martin probably doubled back, attacked Zimmerman and beat his head into the pavement . When the smoke and mirrors clear, I expect Zimmerman to be proven innocent...and go to jail for the mandatory 20 years .

Any Lawyer who would sue this guy on behalf of the perps Familly deserves to suffer the same fate as his dead client.

Lawsuits work both ways. George Zimmerman could sue Trayvon Martin's Parents for the injuries Trayvon inflicted on him . He could also sue them for defaming him by falsely and publicly saying he killed their son in cold blood. Slander.
He can sue various media companies including NBC, who tampered with the police recording to make Zimmerman sound racist .
He may be able to take some action against the proscecutor for malicious proscecution .

Maybe he'll be fortunate enough to have a lawyer who'll help him do just that.

I hope this guy has plenty of $, because unfortunately he may need it. And I don't know who I feel worse for, him or his wife. Probably him, this ones gonna take more than flowers and a box of chocolates.
