Default Man buys knife, stabs 2 at Salt Lake City store

Quote:
Police say a bystander with a concealed carry permit witnessed the attack and stepped in to keep it from escalating. "(The bystander) was suspicious of what might be going on, and when he saw the stabbing, he just drew his pistol and challenged the individual," which caused the alleged attacker to lie down on the ground, said Salt Lake City Police Lt. Brian Purvis.
Quote:
"This was a really volatile situation that could have gotten even worse," Purvis said. "(The bystander) was definitely in the right place at the right time."
This is a weird one. Good thing it was stopped quickly.

Oh boy, just wait for Holder's assault knife ban coming to a political platform near you!

This story should be aired every time the liberals complain about Concealed Carry laws.

Imagine that. Now that is how we get good press for firearms owners. Interesting that it was a concealed carry holder.

A guy with a gun saves the day! Wow everyone with guns are suppose to be bad guys arn't they! That what they say on tv.

Glad to see he was able to step in and he didn't have to fire a shot! Good for him ,he probably just saved two men with just doing the right thing. Really he may of even saved a police officer and the suspects lives by stepping in. Had he not been there it could of gone from bad to worse.

play the victim, be the victim

Yse sir, ban the knife, it's an evil weapon. On Judge Judy yesterday a woman admitted to stabbing her boyfriend with a butter knife so we need to get rid of those also.

Chalk another one up for the good guys. Glad to see this guy kept his head and was able to intervene and stop a bad situation from getting much worse. +10

Update:

http://www.ksl.com/?nid=960&sid=20168568&s_cid=article-popular-4

Quote:
A man accused of stabbing people at random at a downtown Smith's Marketplace Thursday has a long criminal history.

Kiet Thanh Ly, 34, was booked into the Salt Lake County Jail for investigation of attempted murder and aggravated assault. Two victims remained in very critical but stable condition Friday at a local hospital, according to Salt Lake police.

But investigators said Friday they still don't know what caused Ly — a South Vietnamese national — to "snap" Thursday afternoon.
Since South Vietnam has been er...gone a while, is it still possible to be a "South Vietnamese National?"
