Default Stevens gun authority

I recently got my CCW in Ohio and the common sense instructor informed us that Ohio had, by far, the stupidest carry laws of any state in the country. I have been around guns my entire life and even though I have the permit I will not carry in Ohio.

I carry in a comfrontable holster and if I'm going into a place that doesn't allow firearms I put the pistol in the lock box and leave the holster in place. If that business happenens to be a city/state or federal building or an airport I also remove the holster but in most cases just putting the gun in the box and leaving the holster in place will not be an issue. Ity might seem hard to carry but it's even harder to to be a victim so carry all the time and lock up your pistol when you have to go into a place where you can't carry.

I have read several times, mostly by Massad Ayoob, that "good guys carry their guns in holsters, bad guys carry them in their pants". He seems to think that most cops will form a first and lasting impression of you from that fact, should it become necessary for them to become aware that you're carrying. Of course, most bad guys don't get CCWs either.
