He doesn't have either. He asked for help trying to decide between the two. I was just pointing out he had an apple & oranges comparison.

I have both. I don't really think they are that comparable. One is significantly thicker than the other, although both are concealable. So it really depends on how you intend to carry it.

The Shield has become my favorite carry gun. It also has a safety, which I personally prefer. Don't get me wrong, I love my Glocks. Just for a gun that I am going to be handling multiple times a day, I would rather have a safety.

External safety is a must for me personally.

And that's all that should ever be said of concealed carry handguns.

Glock 23 and 19 = exact same size deferent caliber and barrel

Just encase you didn't know

And I think the 23 is perfect size still big enough tobe very accurate and still concealable

here's my points
Glock gen 4 grip is much better
The m&p doesn't cut it

I also need to mention the m&p 40c triggers are horrible and have no reset

I believe the Shields may be different

Over all my Glock has more fire power "rounds" more more accurately in my opinion and has a better trigger... I owned the 2m&ps I own before I owned Glocks ... U don't want you to think I am being partial to Glocks I really wish I liked my m&ps more since they are the best looking of the bunch

Weight with out the extra rounds the Glock is actually lighter

The new recoil spring in gen 4 Glocks are supposed to help more with recoil then the standard m&p single recoil spring

I will say the slide serrations on the m&p are better

Both have different style changer indicators... I do not have a preference on either

For me, it's the perfect concealed carry gun. YMMV
I have both, and I'll have to tell ya, I can conceal the G19 very well. Its a very nice CC pistol.
