I currently own only one pistol, an xdm 40. It's not exactly the size I want for a ccw, and so Im going to get something in its place.
I'm looking for something with decent stopping power, and with a large clip, but with something smaller than a 3.5" barrel.
Any suggestions?

I have an XD9 subcompact. Love it. I can shoot it as accurately as any pistol I own. It has NEVER been finicky with ammo, and I've shot everything from SD loads to "factory" reloads. My M&P compact, by comparison, hates factory reloads.
It comes with a 16 rd extended mag, and I have a rail mounted light for nightstand duty.
