Default Keltec PF9, Glock 19 9mm, or Sig Sauer .45 P259?

I'm looking for my first handgun, other than my old .22 revolver, and I'm down to the KelTec PF9, Glock 19 9mm, or the Sig Sauer .45 P250. I have narrowed down to these based on forums, YouTube, friends, and looking at them in gun shops. What do you think? Any other suggestions?

I can't recommend anything without manual safeties, so I'll leave plenty of nice guns out due to that. These suggestions are based on the pieces you've already mentioned...

9mm options (all can be bought new or used and are still manufactured):

- Ruger SR9C ~$500 (short pull DAO)
- Taurus PT709 Slim ~$425 (short pull DA)
- Bersa Thunder Pro CC ~450 (DA/SA)
- Sig P938 ~$700 (1911-like SAO)

45acp options:

- RIA/Metro Arms American Classic Commander 1911 ~$650

My prices may be off a bit, just what I can recall from last time looking at them all.

I'd stay away from the Kel Tec unless money was the issue. Have heard to many horror stories and you can't run +P ammo through them. I have a Glock 19, a Sig P220 compact and a Taurus 709 slim and am confident carrying any of them.

i would keep it between the sig or the glock, shoot both and see what one fits your needs and your hands.

I really think I'm gonna get the Glock but right now you just can't find them anywhere but Gunbroker.com and they're going for $700+.

If you like the p250 in .45 you may be interested in the sp2022 its 9mm or. 40 also price right around $400. Another option could be the Smith sd9ve, very very similar to the g19 with a $200 less price

Don't buy a kel tec. I have 2 that work great but I went through hell getting them to work. Personally I can't handle a glock. The chances of shooting your self in a struggle are far to great.

Sig p250, or from what I have used. SA XDs-45, Sig p938, Kimber SOLO, Glock 19 or 26, Kimber ultra crimson 3 inch 45acp. Then the Colt Mustang 380 as a bug. Good luck!!

Lots of great advice but I've got one more I need some opinions on, the Springfield XD9 compact. What do you think of that? Especially compared the others we've talked about.
