What's up fellow gunners, I'm considering buying a Kahr CM9 for conceal carry. Does anyone have pros & cons on this firearm?

I haven't shot one. The only "negative" thing i have heard is that they require a solid 200 round break-in period; sounds like getting to know a good pistol to me.

Haven't shot one either. I heard the break in is more like 300, and they have a tendency to bite the web of your hand if gripped incorrectly. Depends on hand size and model.

Theres no issues with the pistol for most. Its more about the ammo you use and your skill level. Many guys have some issues with wally world WWB ammo. Use a 124gr from magtech or remmington fmj for "break-in". Simply seems to run well. I also like to use georgia arms canned heat. My first used cw9 kahr was a piece of junk acording to its first owner. It would not shoot a mag with out a failure of some kind. For me , not a single issue came up. Shot so well I bought a cm9 , never did any racking of the slide other than to take it apart ,clean and lube and ran 600 runs thru it with out any problems that week. Those 2 kahrs are up to 2250 rounds with not a single problem.

Start with only a good fmj ammo of 124gr weight. 115gr fmj loads in a new kahr may not have enought energy to work the slide at first. After a few hundred rounds the 115gr ammo should run fine. After that few hundred rounds of fmj and getting to know your pistol then pick your favorite HP to try. Lots of us find a Gold Dot bullet run in most any pistol well. I use georgia arms +P 124gr seer gd bullet. Underwood also loads very good ammo too that lower cost than the speer label.

You do need to be able to control the pistol being small and lite. A piece of free used 1.75" inner tube from a bike shop on the grip helps greatly with control too. Don't be suprised if it takes you several range trips as 200 rounds can do it your grip and control and then you can find your have problems that become shooter related.

The kahrs make great liittle CC pistols.

I don't have any experience with the cm9, but I do own a cw40. I heard outstanding things about them before purchasing one, but I seem to have bought a lemon. From straight out the box not a single magazine will fire all the way thru with out the mag dropping on its own. It's not the way I hold the gun I've tried. I sent it back to kahr and after almost 2 months they sent it back saying they changed the mag catch, it still drops the mag. I ordered a new magazine to see if its not the gun but the mag, still waiting for it to come in and hopefully that will fix the problem. As an overall tho I love the gun good feel great sights and easy to carry, I think I just got unlucky with this one.

Lucky510 You never said what ammo you were useing. 135gr 165 or 180gr fmj for break in. Is it dropping mags with FMJ ammo or HPs what make and weight . Are you trying different bullet profiles brands and weights. Let other skilled with heavier recoiling handguns try it too. Never assume that its the gun first. Some HP bullet profiles can cause the mag to drop too buy rubbing it as they try to pass by in the mag.. You sound a bit like the kind of guy I bought my CW9 from. He the same one that 2 years later now owns a great little cm40 I helped break it in with. OH , I hate that 40 cal recoil and snap but I am not a 40 cal fan period.

I've tried multiple types of ammo same result with all of them, also several people have fired the gun and they all have the same result as well. I'm a 45 guy so I'm def used to the recoil it doesn't bother me at all

. I wish you were close by . I love a chalenge and your kahr sound like one. I allways felt a 45 had a soft touch comparied to a 40sw. More push less snap. I budy pulled a quicky on me yesterday with his 9mm and 45 1922's he use's for matchs. We were shooting off some old ammo and he swapped calibers on me and i did not notice till he start laughing and asked if anything felt different.

I have a CM9. I have shot several different brands of ammo as well as my own handloads. Never a single isuue of any kind. Great gun. I carry it almost everyday in a pocket holster in my front pocket.
