Haha did this with a local cop at a check point last new years super cool LEO seen him at the local range plenty of time. Just asked to not reach for my peice, not realizing what I had done I looked at him funny and realized I had handed him the wrong ID. Sorry officer and I was on my way.

But good luck with that. I would only recommend you carry the REAL original license.
It seems to work fine when I pick up a new handgun at a dealer without the 3 day waiting period.

I have mine in an ID holder secured to my belt. The holder rides in my front pocket. Mainly because Im more likely to leave my wallet behind (walking the dog) than I am to leave my pistol behind.

I would normally say in my wallet, but funny timing this thread.

I noticed that it wasn't in my wallet. . . . and I was carrying (or so goes this hypothetical non-binding story).

I realized that I had 'trimmed' my wallet before a trip to Mexico and had never put it back.

I usually stick non-essentials for the Mexico trip in a safe place, and return them to my wallet after the trip.

My CPP must have dropped out of the collection. I found it safely hiding under the corner of my bead.

It is back in my wallet.

So hypothetically (and non-binding), I may have been without it for two months.

Well I wouldn't want to get caught carrying like that and the cop doesn't allow it and you get charged with carrying without a license. Too much can go wrong by carrying a copy of your license and not the real thing. Plus if you get into an altercation with someone and the cops doesn't allow it then you are going to be in a lot of trouble for illegally carrying a firearm and using it.
