Well i though we were talking coming with gun drawn already, not drawing from holster. But if so there are some maneuvers you can do like side step. I don't know about you guys but on my home field I have the advantage and will protect the house occupants

The thing that came to my mind was "what if I was to wake up with some attacker 30 feet away?". In my case, my cats would warn me before that point, and the shotgun is beside the bed.

What if it was a bear ninja and it ate your cat before kitty could say anything???

What did somebody forget to engage their safety and shoot the dogs front teeth out? Or are we blaming that on the Glock shooters?

What kind of cats do you have? Special bred guard/alert cats? Or are you a ringmaster? If so that would be awesome

i also want to point something out, a home invasion is not about robbery, but violence, with the robberies usually a second priority for those who commit home invasions. in many cases of home invasion, the homeowners are beaten, raped and killed.

a person only worried about stealing your property, usually wants no encounter with the homeowners. he wants to get in, steal what he can that he feels is valuable, and get out and away. this means many times they will do what they do when the homeowners are not home. home invaders will come into your home in the middle of the night. they know you're home and really don't care.

to defend yourself against a home invasion is different than protecting your self from the simple thief. most effective defence against a home invasion is the fore knowledge that they most likely will kill you and preparing your mindset for that. that any action on your part is to keep from being a victim.

They are not small cats; they are not the most friendly cats. They grew up in a single-human home for the most part. One is the offspring of feral cats and doesn't like to be picked up by anyone other than me. They sleep on the bed and are easily disturbed and not shy about letting me know when their rest is being disturbed. The larger one did chase a nephew and his friend out of my bedroom once when they stopped by to see my new pistol. That one could fairly be referred to as "surly". He weighs 20-25 pounds.

I feel confident in them alerting me to any notable change in my house......so long as the uninvited guests don't have any really good catnip.

All I am going to say in regards to home intruders in the night is that tax payers would not be supporting them in prison if they wondered upstairs. Piss on em.

I live in an apartment complex, smack dabe in the middle of a city with 2 million residents... home invasions are common. Glock never leaves my side.

I also have certain things placed around the house. Hatchet on top of fridge, Hammer behind the tv, Baseball bat in closet or behind the door, another bat under couch.. and a handsaw in the bathroom medicine cabinet... yeah idk it just wound up there
