But if you read the OP, it clearly states looking for open carry holster advice. Not trying to start a fight, but yeah…

OC vs CC for me has a lot to do with situation. When I was repossessing cars I preferred OC for two reasons, easy access being the first and the second being just like a lot(not all) of confrontational situations once an aggressor becomes aware you have a weapon at your side they tend to stand down and become less aggressive. This has been my exp any way.
I also prefer OC when out beside the river late at night cat fishing simply for easy access, same goes when I'm on the boat in the river.
As for just out and about with the wife and mini me or out with friends I prefer CC, simply for element of surprise in situation and to avoid some idiot trying to disarm by surprise.

I can carry open or concealed while hunting. I have Blackhawk' s serpa in paddle and drop leg for both my pistols. I use the drop leg in the winter and paddle in the summer. I can carry my pistols loaded while hunting, but then I have to remove the magazine and chambered round outside the hunting grounds. I am required to keep my pistol on me until I get home to prevent theft. Germany has the craziest laws that has state vs federal contradictions to the laws.

Sorry, I recommend Blackhawks holsters because the release button naturally puts the trigger finger outside the trigger guard. The button secures the weapon and prevents someone else from removing the gun. The serpa allows for a very quick draw. You can use the paddle or attach to a belt. The holster is very cheap, but well made.
