So I like to carry a full size 5" 1911 as my ccw, but all the holsters I have tried havent been very comfortable, the best one I have now is an IWB made by bianchi. So I was thinking about ording a cross bread super tuck. I am looking for some info and reviews from some of you who have them. One of my bigger questions is how comfortable are they while seated and driving? I ask because my bianchi is very nice while walking around, but as soon as I jump in the car it digs in my side like crazy! Thanks for any help.

With that big (long) a gun pretty much anything you stick inside your drawers is going to be jabbing you. You either need to go to a shorter pistol or start carrying OWB.

5" barrels aren't intended to be CC handguns. That being said do you have any other guns that could do the job and have barrels in excess of 4 1/4" in length?
Other characteristics for a CC gun include but aren't limited to:
* The frame should be aluminum and not exceed Commander style.
* It's not necessary to carry high capacity magazines, 8 rounds should be more than enough.
* 9mm is sufficient.
If all you want to do is CC then maybe you should buy a gun for that purpose.

As for holsters I do have a Crossbreed and I really like it as a mid range holster but, depending on your body shape you might want to invest a few more bucks and buy a hand made leather holster.

As far as other gun types, I have a S&W sigma .40 that i carry somtimes, maybe that whould be a better choice. And as far as my body type I am 6' 2" and 220 lbs. Thanks for the advice.

There ya' go. I used to own a S&W Sigma in 9mm before I bought my G19. They are pretty mich the same gun and carrying it wasn't a problem.
And, that Crossbreed is a great holster.

Great, in my opinion you're maximizing the resources you've got and saving a lot of money by doing so.

OK, time for the canester to step in and defend the FS 1911 Government.

The 1911 pattern pistol is an ideal EDC.

Pros;

• Single stack thin frame
• 45 ACP round

Cons;

• Sharp angle butt
• Weight

The answer is a comfortable holster. That holster is the X-Breed Super Tuck.

My Cross Breed ST distributes the weight of the gun over a much larger area making the 'perceived weight' much less for any gun carried.

I have only one XBST but I can carry comfortably my 3" Defender, 4.75" Browning HP, Colt Government and Fenrir (my 460 Rowland with the 6.5" barrel w/comp) in all but South Florida's 95º/95% heat. Then it's swim trunks and my LCR or LCP.

Cant is adjustable and if you sit a lot, all you need to do is tweak the cant and belt location to find that sweet-spot . You'll know it when you find it. Mine is a FBI cant (~15º) and 3:30 belt location.

I carry the gun I'm most comfortable with on any given day.

All are valid points, but, it's what works best for the individual. That's all.
As an example: For the last six months that I've spent getting into handguns and all the related gear ,such as holsters, it seems that everyone is in love with the Milt Sparks VMII for IWB CC. So I bought a couple but, I still prefer my Crossbreed Super Tuck over the MS.
I can't help it, it's what works best for me.
