The other day I mentioned to my wife that I thought she ought to get her permit to carry as I can't always be around. She really didn't say much at the time. She isn't anti gun cause she grew up on a farm in a family that hunts and fishes pretty heavily but she's just not a gun nut like me, lol.

I talked to her today on the phone and she saw another shooting on the internet and said she now wants to get hers. Im thrilled to tell you the truth cause now I've got a reason to add another gun to the family and ill feel better about her going shopping by herself.

I told her she could carry my Bersa .380 or buy one for herself when the money came about.

I'd like to hear what the ladies of the forum or wives of members carry to give us some ideas. She'll most likely carry it in her purse btw.

Purse carry is a really bad idea but...I carry either my lcp in a crossbreed mini tuck or my Taurus 709 slim in a fox holster depending on how I am dressed.

I have two daughters that carry and a wife. One girl has a bersa 380CC NOT there thunder models or a taurus TCP380 . Other girl a charter arms ultra lite 38sp with 125gr+P. Wife has a TCP380 or m&pc 9mm with a gd124g.

LET your wife deside on what she wants to carry. Just find her help if needed at a range or quality gun shop and stay out of that part of her choices as much as possible. All carry on there body not bags or gimmicks

Yea we have a local gun shop we'll be visiting soon and she knows one of the guys who works there (he and his wife are regular customers at cracker barrel where she works part time). We just haven't had time lately to visit an lgs and browse.

Yeah, I'd think purse is a bad idea. The way I see my girls leave their handbags just lying around unattended all the time is crazy.

My wife only carries when its comfortable, unfortunately that means when she is wearing a jacket usually. Atleast its a start though. Now that its colder out is a good time to get her started, so I would take advantage of her desire to carry while she is interested before it fades. Good luck, and let us know what she ends up doing, I'm always interested in how other females do it so I can get ideas for my wife.
