Default firearms permit

to me the wording is not clear can you carry concealed or does it always have to be visible

I don't know what language in the law your discussing as you did not reproduce it in your post. In my state, if you have a CCW permit, you are required to keep your weapon concealed!!

More info needed before I can even guess. What license? A FFL ? License to purchase/ possess required in some states? A carry permit ? Ya gotta give us a hint here. It WILL be state specific- there is no such thing as a Federal Concealed Weapons license. Here is VA, it is called a Permit to Carry Concealed Handgun.

In Indiana, it's call a lic. to carry.
You can carry open, but, the police don't recommend it do to the public being spooked.
Gun control means having good placement

Agreed, in Indiana your license entitles you to open carry or concealed carry. Most states are not like this, in most states you have to conceal it.
