My holster has a pouch on the front that I keep an extra 9rd mag in.

With my experience that the weakest link is the mag in semi-autos, I always carry one or two extra

I have a mag that fits perfectly in my old Gerber multi-tool pouch (multi-tool was stolen in a break in). Looks like a good ol multi-tool on my belt.

Everything fails at one time or another. If it is mechanical it will fail maybe not today, tomorrow, next year or 5yrs from now. I for one am not willing to bet my life or the lives of my family.

I carry on a daily bais my Sig P-226R 9mm with 1 or 2 mag's or my Para USA GI Expert 1911 with 2 mag's as well as a S&W Bodyguard. 38 in a ankle or pocket holster with 1 speed strip. I carry extra mag's and speed strips in my BOB in my truck that has my AR or AK.

I know it sounds like a bit of over kill but times are changing and not for the better.
