Extra mag survey
Just curious. How many people always carry an extra magazine while concealed carrying versus people who don't ?

I always keep at least one spare 15 rounder and when I can a 33 round mad in my BOB.

After the shooting at the movies I've started carrying an extra 15 rounder.

I used to carry two in a dual mag belt holder but my new one is belt instead of paddle. I've ripped off two belt loops while getting into my car so I tend not to wear it as much. I picked belt over paddle because the paddle mag holders will really jab your side if you bump them getting into a car. I can't win.

I am in LE and teach overview 200 ccw students per year. See Stillwater Firearms Association.

I carry at least 2 extra high cap mags at all times. I advise my CCW students to do likewise if possible.

No. I carry a Ruger SR9C with a 10 round mag. If I can't cover my ass in 10 shots... 10 shots is better then no shots. I figure it's somewhere between a butter knife and a Howitzer. Just what I feel good with. If I was in a big city or LE I might think of it different but where I am at I am more likely to shoot a mean dog then a mean person.

I always carry at least one spare mag, and not just for the extra rounds. If you bump the release and dump your mag on the floor, it's faster to grab the spare off the belt than to bend down and retrieve the original. And there are other mag-related problems that are best addressed by quick replacement.

It's not difficult to carry a spare mag/speed loader, so why not?
Better have it and not need it, than need it and not have it.

It's not a matter of "can I end the fight in one mag" so much as its "I'm NOT going to be holding an empty gun"

A lot of days my carry gun is a S&W Mdl 36. And a Speed Strip with a reload in the pocket. No weight, no bulk, no hassle. Yes, I have speed loaders- but the Speed Strip lays flat in a pocket.

I used to carry a spare, but haven't for quite some time. Murphy and his law can pound sand.

I've NEVER experienced a mag related failure when using OEM glock mags.
16 rounds of 127+p+ should keep me safe. I'm not altogether convinced 15 more rounds would be a gamechanger otherwise.
