Why sis I see this thread now!! All guns are on the other side of the house, hand guns locked in my range bag (breifcase combo lock). My gun safe has a combo lock but home defense weapons are not in it. The cordless phone is an arms reach away but the line powered phone is in the bedroom.

Not ready...send the bad guys now!

Heres the problem I got. If a nuclear bomb was detonated 100 miiles from where I live when I am asleep (live through the explosion) I wouldnt even hear it or feel it. I sleep real good and real hard. Consquently, if I had a gun out within sight of a bad guy he would with no problem to be able to get that gun and shoot me dead in my sleep. I wouldnt even know it until I was at St. Peters step woundering why I was there.

Where I am sitting right now in front of my computer in my gun room, my Para P-14 is just to the right of my monitor in a cubby hole in my roll top desk and my phone is to my left on top of my PC. I can grab both at the same time..

Jim.........

Two guys in the same night telling about their AMT Backups? Mine's torn apart on the table upstairs, feed ramp freshly polished but needing some work on the slide rails. It's galling, and I'm going to try molybednum disulfide grease instead of oil for a few months. Any tips on parts availability would be greatly appreciated.

I really couldn't tell you about the parts, have you tried Numrich? I just recently got the AMT ( actually it's a IAI but same exact gun). However, my boss is a gunsmith.. I could ask him.

.38 and cell both in arms reach. No safe key (combination only), but the safe is open as long as I'm in the same room and I deem it safe. I only need in the safe to get clips for the big guns, anyhow.
