You showed more restraint than I do on questions like this----

Nothing wrong with a little honest sincerity.

I'll agree to that, and all I wanted was to know what I'm legally capable of. I didn't want to pick up the handgun then immediately ask when I'm allowed to shoot shoot someone with it so I thought I'd ask here. I knew it was a "grey area" subject, but I didn't know it was this bad nor did I know it was a touchy subject for some.

(I ride a motorcycle) I have my handgun in an appropriate bag legally separated (gun separate from magazines etc.) if the need arises can I use it then?
Most likely no, because by the time you realize you need it you'll already be down and dead or dying. Even if not by then you most certainly will be by the time you gather the mag, the gun, and insert into gun, then rack round into Chamber. Get your frigging carry permit or accept that your gun is nothing but a plinker and home defense.

Ragecage, before you start carrying or even if u don't carry. I highly suggest you read canebrakes post on what happens/what you need to do after you "STOP" someone.

It is titled: "Read this before you start to carry!"

Great read and good information in it. We can go round and round on when to use your gun or not. Ultimately, that is your call. There are so many things that will and need to happen afterwards.

That thread, I want to call it an article because of how much important information was included, actually answered a lot of my questions. Great read indeed.

I do live in California and the county I live in doesn't give ccw, there was some website that mapped out the probability of qualifying for those. Can I still take the class even though I may not be able to get a ccw?
He'll yeah you can.I would also suggest some higher training with you're firearms.I don't think they've invented a law against learning about self defense yet.
