I've seen a lot of videos where people get harassed who open carry (not that its something I'm into) so I would definitely rather have a permit.

Yeah I open carried into a Hardees in Monroe, NC (just south of Charlotte) so after I walked in with my polo tucked into my dockers and my gun on my hip, I had the audicity to pay for my food and start to eat when I was then confronted by the local cops. The Hardees manager called and said I was going to rob the place

I've seen this on YouTube a lot! I don't need someone who simply doesn't agree with what I'm doing calling the police and getting me harassed because they don't know the law.
