Cool beans
Walked into the Mobile County Sheriff's Office today. Walked out with my concealed carry pistol permit.

I was frankly quite surprised. No courses needed to be taken. No set of fingerprints needed. Didn't even ask or care why I even wanted one.
I knew I had some good reasons to move down here from Illinois.

NICE! I am still putting it off; the process may be a little more involved over here. I would probably take one of the one day courses and get the "enhanced" MS carry permit that allows carry in a few more places. One of my brothers-in-law has the regular, one has the "enhanced", but i'm still just carrying in the car (legal here).

What does "enhanced" entitle you to? I can carry ANY gun I want to with my license. They don't even have a list of the guns I may be carrying.

The "enhancement" allows you to carry in more places legally, in MS.

The department shall promulgate rules and regulations allowing concealed pistol permit holders to obtain an endorsement on their permit indicating that they have completed the aforementioned course and have the authority to carry in these locations. This section shall in no way interfere with the right of a trial judge to restrict the carrying of firearms in the courtroom.
