Does anyone know what the CCW is for the state of Maryland or no where I could look it up?

The is a vague question. If your referring to the requirements to obtain one, your state police website should have that information.

Don't hesitate to join Maryland Shall Issue,
Rookie.

Currently, we are a may issue state but there is an appeals going on right now. You can find more information on the website.

Have good friend that is retired Baltimore cop. Word is, unless you are a LEO, or can show an occupational need or are a political hack, it ain't gonna happen.

The good and substantial was considered unconstitutional and the stay has been lifted recently.

Maryland Shall Issue has more information on this recent appeal
It is really good news for us.

As a former long time Marylandistander, All I can say is-don't hold your breath.
As long as the dc beltway/balmer politicos are in control, you will never have your rights bestowed back upon you. And regardless of party affiliation currently in control, I can't see a change in my lifetime.
I hate having to visit there.

I work in md, live elsewhere, and recently got my hands on the "new" applications. Apart from the standard fare (completing the training course, paying fees) the application is 13 pages, requires (among other things) two notarized sections, digital fingerprints, and three references.

That being said, It's still up in the air. Last I heard (and it's probably changed) apps could be filed August 8, 2012.

The trick MD has adopted recently to disarm its citizens is to send letters to CCW carriers. A family friend of mine, a retired NYC cop, was recently told via letter that "since [he] hadn't been involved in any incidents or needed to defend himself since requesting [his] permit, the state was deeming it unnecessary."
And as such they refused to renew his permit.

I say the only hope for MD is if they pass the national Reciprocity bit that's been gaining steam, at least then neighboring states can carry while in MD...

Zoey- I wish my bothers and sisters in MD the best of luck in dealing with the idiots in Annapolis. Cannot help but wonder if there is something in the water that causes that- because the good folks at St Mary's, Laplata, Aberdeen and Hancock sure do not act like the politicians in the state house.
