Default CCW permit holder from the NRA

I received the catalog in the mail couple days ago. This one rates right up there with the CCW badge.

IMHO the badge is a fast and easy way to end up cuffed & stuffed. The ID holster is not very far behind.

Others may do as they see fit. I keep my carry pistol concealed 99.9% of the time. Permit is next to my drivers license in the wallet.

Check the on-line NRA store for other things, too

The badge and/or the holster defeats the purpose of CCW.

If you advertise you have a CCW then it won't be CCW.

Seriously, has anyone actually seen anyone wearing one of these rediculous things? I think I would fall down laughing.

It's not for "advertising". It's purpose is to keep your CCW ID with your weapon. BOTH your weapon and ID remain concealed.

In my state, carrying your piece on your person and forgetting your CCW ID at home will earn you a pair of bracelets from LEO's. If you are smart, you don't carry one without the other. Keeping the two together is the idea behind the ID "holster". It's not about showing off and being a mall ninja.

I can see the use for the ID holster for a off-duty LEO or a plains clothes officer, but the badge is definitely ridiculous.

What is more weird is that people actually buy them, hence the market for them.....

I can't. They carry REAL badges.

Oh crap...maybe I should leave the badge home next time I go strutting thru Wal-Mart...

OK, seriously, the only people who would want either the badge or the license holder are the "wanna-be LEO's". These are the same guys that buy Ford Crown Vic's and put long antennas on them. They want everyone to think they are Law enforcement. It's some kind of power trip I guess. "Look at me I'm an officer". I've seen guys around here try to pull this off and look totally foolish.

In our town last year a guy was stopping women with an old police crusier that he bought at an auction. He installed blue lights and a siren. He got off on intimidating women who were driving alone. He stopped an off duty lady officer and tried his act on her. She knew he was a fake and arrested him. Oops!
