No offensive but its probably easier just to move out of New York. You'd probably even be treated like an American citizen! (as long as you didn't move to Connecticut, Maine, Colorado, California....). It is kind of cool to think of NY as a "1911 state" and to carry a "New York reload." It's just badass to carry two 1911's : ) But I would prefer to actually have ALL my constitutional rights. Good luck. 11 months to get a carry permit is damn near tyrannical!

Yeah I agree here in California I've been told is going to be up to a year to year and a half for CCW approval. completely unacceptable my sheriff here by the way is awesome he does want to get as many CC W he can. he is just over whelmed with applicants. he is extremely mad here. had to lay off a lot of sheriff's deputies and wants to arm is many of citizens as he can.

I know a guy who got his permit a couple years ago, and he waited a year for his. Now that Premier Cuomo is threatening our gun rights, it's at least a 2 hour wait at the permit office for any transaction. And forget about getting through to them on the phone.

Way back when I got my permit in NY, the county I was living in wasn't giving out carry permits, it was just a permit to own/buy. I think that was close to 9 months.
I have since moved to NH where you don't need a permit to own, buy or carry openly. Your CCW permit is $10 for 4 years and has to be denied or accepted in 14 days.
